Games of the Day

The Indians play their second double header in three days as they send Carlos Carrasco and Mike Clevinger against Matt Boyd and Buck Farmer of the Tigers. The Indians come into the game with a seven game win streak, and both these games appear to feature match-ups that favor Cleveland.

Doug Fister and Sonny Gray face off as the Red Sox continue their series at Yankee Stadium. Fister pitched better than his ERA this season, but a .422 BA allowed with runners in scoring position wrecked his three-true outcomes. Gray owns a 2.70 ERA with the Yankees, but the Yankees have scored on run or less in three of this five starts with the team.

Arizona travels to Denver as Taijuan Walker faces Kyle Freeland. Walker pitched well against the Rockies this year, but owns a 1-1 record in three starts. Freeland faces Arizona for the first time in his career. He is 6-5 at home with an excellent 3.30 ERA. He allowed just seven home runs in 73 2/3 innings at Coors Field.

Finally, Clayton Kershaw returns from the disabled list to try to end the Dodgers losing streak. He faces the Padres and Dinelson Lamet. Kershaw is eight points behind Max Scherzer in Tom Tango Cy Young Tracker points. That should lead to a nice by the duo down the stretch for the award. Lamet struck out 105 in 86 innings during his rookie year. That limited the number of hits he allowed. He gives up power with men on base, however, leading to his high ERA.

Enjoy!
