Closing the Gap

The Dodgers can breathe a Cy of relief as Clayton Kershaw returns from the disabled list to pitch six shutout innings in the 1-0 win over the Padres. Despite his time on the disabled list, Kershaw can still win 20 games on the season and with the best ERA in the majors may win the Cy Young award. He closed the gap with Max Scherzer with the shutout innings and seven strikeouts. He is now just three points behind the Washington ace in Tom Tango Cy Young Tracker points. He is ahead of Scherzer in Season Score, but trailing Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen. It’s going to be an interesting vote.
