Yasiel Puig gave Cleveland http://ift.tt/2rtlgQC” target=”_blank”>made an inappropriate gesture to Indians fans:
Puig rounded the bases after his shot to right-center field gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead, then celebrated briefly with teammates. While continuing toward the dugout, he raised both middle fingers.
While it’s unclear which fans the gesture was meant for, there is seating in the dugout suites close to home plate.
An umpire got in the act in a different game:
Say what you want about Daniel Murphy’s defense. You won’t be the first. The Nationals second baseman is well known for his defensive struggles, a reputation bolstered by the robotic and sometimes unorthodox way in which he approaches the routine.
But Tuesday, Murphy’s ability to play defense diminished greatly when umpire Alan Porter stood in his line of sight early in the game.
Porter did not respond well to a request from Murphy, barking at the player, who appeared to try to reason with him. When the conversation was over, and Murphy could no longer see what Porter was saying, cameras caught the umpire muttering expletives at Murphy. Obviously, neither party was available for comment during the game.
I’m guessing both the player and umpire will get a good talking to.
