The Marlins travel to Washington as Chris O’Grady takes on Max Scherzer. O’Grady makes his sixth MLB start. He struck out 24 in his first 25 innings, but 14 walks and four home runs have hurt his ERA. Scherzer makes his first start since neck spasms took him out of his last game. With 201 K this year, he struck out at least 200 six seasons in a row.
Brent Suter faces Ervin Santana in the battle of the upper mid-west as Milwaukee visits Minnesota. Suter limits offense with a .255/.303/.375 slash line, as opponents tend to hit singles against him. He is allowed a .346/.400/.500 line with runners in scoring position. Santana has not pitched great at home, allowing 14 home runs in 70 1/3 innings in Minnesota.
