The Rockies signed Charlie Blackmon for a long time:
The Rockies have signed outfielder Charlie Blackmon to a six-year contract, including two player options, which could keep him with the club through the 2023 season.
So the Rockies will have him through at least his age 34 season, and probably through his age 36 season. In general, I would rather let players in their 30s decline for someone else, but we haven’t seen the details yet. He might have opted for a team friendly deal so he would not be left on the sidelines when he became a free agent at the end of the season.
