MLB started the season on the young side:
The average age of a major league player on opening day dropped to 28.91 years from 29.13 at the start of last season.
There are good and bad teams among the youngest, and good and bad teams among the oldest. Younger players are cheaper, and for the most part play as well as declining players in their 30s.
