Segura Deal

Jean Segura reportedly received a five-year extension from the Mariners worth $70 million:

A high-ankle sprain forced Segura to the 10-day disabled list on Friday, but prior to that Segura was batting an American-League best .341 with an on-base percentage of .391, a .852 on-base plus slugging, 10 doubles, four home runs, 20 RBI and seven stole bases in 43 games.

This is a pretty sweet deal for the Mariners. Segura is right in his prime, and could be a free agent after the 2018 season. They are paying him for less that two WAR a season, so he could earn his keep in two years if he repeats his 2016 numbers. This also may help the big guns becoming free agents in 2018, as their is one less good player to compete for the available money.
