Weekly Look at Offense

Offense is now running near half a run ahead of the same point in 2016. Ten weeks into the season, 2017 produced 9.20 runs per game, 2016 produced 8.72 runs per game. The have been over 200 more home runs hit, working out to about 0.25 more per game. Teams are putting 0.4 more batters on base per game, but that is all from homers and walks, as other hits are down from 14.90 per game to 14.73 per game. That makes sense as strikeouts are up 0.44 per game to 16.47 per game this season. The toward a three-true outcome game continue.
