Beating Kershaw

The Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers Tuesday night 6-1. Zack Godley allowed contact but not hits as he allowed one run, in seven innings. Clayton Kershaw took the loss, and now is 0-2 with a 2.25 ERA. If only he could pitch well enough to win!

Kershaw’s two runs allowed came on two solo home runs. It’s the 21st time in his career that he allowed two or more home runs in a game. Five of those came since the start of the 2017 season, so nearly a quarter of those games have happened in about one year.

The Diamondbacks are off to a 4-1 start. They are avoiding outs with walks. As a team they are hitting .257 with a .367 OBP. That gives their batters lots of chances to drive in runs.
