Unusual Kershaw

Clayton Kershaw pitched six innings Wednesday night in the Dodgers 3-2 loss to the Athletics. He allowed two runs but did not figure in the decision. What is unusual about the game is that Kershaw struck out just one batter. This was the first time in his career that Kershaw pitched at least six innings with less than two strikeouts. On July 3rd of this year, he pitched six innings with just two strikeouts; that’s the only time he went at least six inning with two K. Kershaw is so good that he still is pitching well without overpowering stuff. Sometimes it takes years for pitchers to figure out how to survive when the Ks abandon them.
