Looking for Common Sense

The Cubs are trying to get their Thursday makeup game in Washington changed:

Thanks to the rains this weekend in Washington and a ridiculous rescheduling decision, the Cubs are currently slated to wrap up this series against the Brewers on Wednesday night, and then fly to DC for a single game against the Nationals, and then fly back to Chicago that night for a day game against the Reds.

It is a hellish week in its own right, and the fact that it comes after 23 straight days of scheduled games makes it all the more miserable. With a hurricane set to make for another soggy week in Washington, though, there’s a chance that the game will not be played or will be moved. But when will a decision be made on that front? Are the Cubs even being heard by MLB on this farce?

Theo Epstein hopes common sense will prevail. I’m fine with the game being moved to after the last day of the season, especially if it results in a tie for the NL Central, and the Cubs have to play another game after that.
