There are some changes in the top five today in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Alex Bregman remains at the top while Christian Yelich and Justin Turner trade the two and three slots. Paul Goldschmidt and J.D. Martinez replace Mike Trout and Anthony Rizzo in the four-five positions. Trout went 0 for 3 with a HBP, while Rizzo left game early as the Cubs got blown out by the Brewers 11-1.
Trout has been okay since returning from the disabled list, in that he’s getting on base just fine. He’s not collecting a lot of hits, however, and his OBP is higher than his slugging percentage. It just shows that everyone slumps.
