The Indians finish their series with the Rays as Carlos Carrasco takes on Blake Snell. Carrasco showed great power and control this season as he comes into the game with 201 K in 169 inning with just 34 walks. Depending on how much Chris Sale pitches down the stretch, Snell could wind up the AL ERA leader. Snell need five more innings to reach 162, the level that guarantees consideration for the ERA title. His home ERA stands at 1.23.
The Nationals go for a sweep of the Phillies, which would put Washington within a hair of the consolation prize of second place in the division. Stephen Strasburg faces NL Cy Young candidate Aaron Nola. Strasburg may be the poster child for the Nationals 2018 season; injured and unlucky. His 4.04 ERA is half a run higher than his FIP and three quarters of a run higher than his xFIP. Nola dropped his ERA over a run for the second year in a row, and should hit 200 innings and 200 K for the first time in his career by the end of the regular season.
Enjoy!
