Games of the Day

The Cardinals visit the Braves in an interesting series. The Cardinals are fighting for a playoff slot, while the Braves are close to wrapping up the NL East. Miles Mikolas takes the mound against Mike Foltynewicz. Mikolas held opponents to just 14 home runs and 28 walks in 180 2/3 innings. Foltynewicz comes into the game with a 2.66 ERA. He pitched five shutout innings against the Cardinals when he faced them earlier this season.

The Phillies and Nationals have a split rooting interest in the above series. They would like to see a sweep, but it’s not clear which team they should see swept. They are closer to the second wild card than the division title, but there are more teams between them and the wild card.

The Rockies head to Los Angeles for a showdown that may determine the NL West champion. Jon Gray faces Hyun-Jin Ryu. Gray was knocked around a bit by the Dodgers this season, allowing six runs in two starts covering 9 2/3 innings. Six walks and two home runs did not help. Ryu owns a 1.51 ERA at home this season.

Enjoy!
