Massive Tie Scenario

The Rockies opened a little bit of a lead on Thursday as they defeated the Giants 5-3. Trevor Story hit three home runs, all solo shots. Antonio Senzatela made a good Colorado start, lasting five innings, then the bullpen pitched four perfect innings, striking out six. Story upped his career home run total to 82, 50 of those coming at home.

Combined with the Dodgers loss to the Mets, the Rockies now lead the division by 1 1/2 games over the Dodgers and two games over the idle Diamondbacks. The probability of a three-way tie stands at 0.013, with the most likely win total for the tie at 88. It has not changed that much this week. The Diamondbacks play Atlanta this weekend, while the Dodgers travel to Colorado for a three-game series starting Friday. That should be fun. If you’re rooting for the tie, you’ll want to the Dodgers to win at least two games this weekend and the Diamondbacks to take three out of four from the Braves.
