Mike Trout remains at the top of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings, and increased his lead over Freedy Freeman as Trout went one for three with a walk on Saturday, while Freeman posted a one for three. Jose Ramirez homered and remains in third place, while Jean Segura moves past J.D. Martinez into fourth place. Segura collected 47 hits, five walks, and a hit by pitch in his last 29 games for a .411 OBP.
Ramirez now owns 21 home runs on the season after hitting 29 in 2017. It looks like some of his doubles are now going over the fence. He blasted 91 extra base hits in 2017, and is on a pace for 97 this season. He’s Albert Belle without the baggage.
