Nimmo Runs

The Mets broke out of their offensive funk Monday night, beating Colorado 12-2 at Coors Field. The Mets scored 30 runs in their first 14 games of the month. Brandon Nimmo was the star, leading off the game with an inside-the-park home run, then going deep in the traditional way later in the game. Overall, he went 4 for 6 and is now batting .287/.410/.603. While the first two parts of the slash line is great for a lead-off hitter, the .603 slugging percentage is quite unusual. Right now, Nimmo has about the same number of PA as last season, but has 26 extra base hits compared to 17 last year. His power and speed is evident in that he owns five triples to go with his nine doubles and 12 home runs. At seasonal age 25, Nimmo is entering his prime with a bang.
