Mike Trout continues to widen his lead in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. He went 2 for 3 with two walks Monday night, but the Angels fell to the Diamondbacks 7-4. It’s a bit of a shame that a player this good doesn’t have a healthier team around him.
Jose Altuve cracks the top five with a three for four night, including a double. The Astros won their 12th game in a row, beating the Rays 5-4 on a walk-off, two-run double by Alex Bregman. Altuve ranks fourth behind Freddie Freeman and Jose Ramirez, and just ahead of Andrew Benintendi. Bregman ranks 12th.
