Games of the Day

The Brewers try to win three in a row against the Cardinals as Miles Mikolas visits Chase Anderson. Mikolas is not an overpowering pitcher, but he does not give away outs. He’s walked just 10 batters in 90 innings. Only Corey Kluber owns a better BB per 9 IP among pitchers with 70 IP this season. Anderson owns mediocre three-true outcome rates, and allowed 13 of 15 home runs at home.

Clayton Kershaw returns to the mound to face the Mets and Jacob deGrom. The New York post leads with this headline:

Clayton Kershaw is returning because Mets are just cursed

Kershaw is under a bit of a curse himself this season. While a 2.76 ERA is high for him, it deserves better than a 1-4 record. He also managed to appear in just one game after a stint on the disabled list before hitting rehabilitation again. deGrom owns Kershaw like numbers this season, a 1.51 ERA with a high K rate, low walk and home run rates. The Mets ace is 0-3 with a 3.26 ERA against the Dodgers in six career starts.

Enjoy!
