Just Make Contact

Shane Bieber made his second MLB start, and it was again an interesting one. In 5 2/3 innings he walked one and struck out seven, but allowed 10 hits. He faced 27 batters, and they went 10 for 19 when they put the ball in play. Despite the ten hits, the Twins only managed one run as they went 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

Bieber has now faced 51 batters, walked two, struck out 13, and allowed 18 hits. Two of those hits were home runs, so batters are 16 for 34 putting the ball in play, .471. It’s all or nothing facing Bieber.

The Indians beat the Twins 4-1.
