The Rockies and Twins play a double header on Thursday, in each case the Rockies sending a high ERA pitcher against a Twins hurler with an ERA in the 1.00s. German Marquez takes on Ervin Santana in game one. Marquez’s 4.88 ERA may have something to do with making three of his four starts in Colorado. In his one road start he pitched eight shutout innings against the Cubs. Santana goes for his seventh win of the season. He went 7-5 in 2015 and 7-11 in 2016.
Game two features Tyler Chatwood against Jose Berrios. Chatwood walked a ton of batters so far this season, 22 in 48 innings, but that’s always been his problem. Berrios walked 35 in 58 1/3 innings in his rookie year of 2016, but walked just one in his first start of 2017, lasting 7 2/3 innings.
