Hit and a Run

The Pirates beat the Phillies 1-0 in a game that saw a total of eight hits, seven of them singles. The lone run came on a hit, but not by a batter. The Pirates loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth on two singles, a stolen base, and an intentional walk. Aaron Nola then hit David Freese with a pitch to push home the only run of the game. Freese is pretty good at getting plunked, with 50 HBP since 2011. He picked an opportune time to take one for the team today.
