Paxton No-Hitter

Canadian pitcher James Paxton pitched a no-hitter in his home country Tuesday night.

James Paxton looked up at the 20,000 Canadian fans cheering for him and pointed to the giant maple leaf tattoo on his right forearm.

The Big Maple picked the perfect place for the game of his life.

Paxton became the first Canadian to throw a no-hitter in his home country, pitching the Seattle Mariners over the Toronto Blue Jays 5-0 Tuesday night.

“You couldn’t write this stuff,” Paxton said. “Pretty amazing to have it happen against the Blue Jays, at home in Canada.”

Not bad, eh?

It’s noted in the article that all three no-hitters this season came in different countries.

Paxton worked very efficiently, throwing just 99 pitches to vanquish the Blue Jays, Seattle winning 4-0. He walked three and struck out seven. I wonder how much the domestic abuse charges against Roberto Osuna weighed on the team.
