The top five hitters in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings remain the same, with Mike Trout at the top of the list followed by Jose Ramirez, Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, and Tommy Pham. Trout collected three hits Saturday night. It was part of a hit fest in which the Mariners beat the Angels 9-8 in 11 innings, a high scoring close game that featured a number of blown leads. Seattle scored four in the bottom of the eighth to take a two run lead, the Angels tied the game in the top of the ninth. Both teams scored in the tenth, the Angels scored in the top of the 11th, and the Mariners walked it off in the bottom of that inning on a Ryon Healy single.
Trout is about as hot as a batter can be, with a .500/.640/1.056 slash line in May. Six of his nine hits went for extra bases, and he drew seven walks.
