Yadier Molina will miss at least a month of play:
Molina left Saturday’s 8-6 win over the Cubs in the ninth inning after taking a foul ball off the bat of Kris Bryant to his groin area. Bryant tipped a 102-mph pitch from reliever Jordan Hicks, causing some serious pain for Molina.
The team has yet to release an official diagnosis or roster move.
No one wants to talk about a broken penis.
Molina’s offense slipped the last few years. He still collects hits, but has become a bit of an out machine, with a .292 OBP this season. We’ll see if Francisco Pena takes over, or if they try to promote Andrew Knizner, although when I see a seasonal age 23 player listed as a catcher/first baseman, I worry about his catching ability.
