Rock Bottom

The Mets have scored two runs in their last four games, losing the last three 2-0 to the Cubs, and 2-1, 1-0 to the Orioles. The Orioles losses should be viewed as particularly galling, since the Orioles own a very hittable pitching staff. The Orioles staff, overall in 2018, allows a .279/.348/.469 slash line. The MLB average stands at .246/.317/.407. If you scroll down at the link to the Opponents section of the Orioles splits, you’ll see the Mets hit .133/.209/.183 against the Orioles. One of those game was against Alex Cobb, whose terrible pitching isn’t even the worst on the team. Whatever magic Mickey Callaway brought to the team at the start of the season evaporated rapidly.
