Going 0 for 3 carries an extra penalty, since most hitters going 0 for 3 bat near the bottom of the order. Trout went 0 for 3 because it was a low scoring game at home, and he would have led off the bottom of the ninth inning. It was enough to push Ramirez into the top position by 0.08 points.
Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, and J.D. Martinez round out the top five, but Red Sox teammate Andrew Benintendi is now just 0.63 points behind Martinez after going two for five with a double and a home run in the 9-3 Boston win over Houston.
Martinez left the game with back spasms.
